FIRST INDIGENOUS MUSEUM IN THE PROVINCE OF QUEBEC

Since 1965, the Musée des Abénakis, the first Indigenous museum institution in Quebec, has been shedding light on the W8banaki Nation. Showcasing the richness and strength of this people’s identity, it offers an immersive experience through its new permanent exhibition, W8banakiak. This exhibition invites visitors to discover Abenaki knowledge, traditions, and ways of life through sight, touch, and smell. The historic site, the Tolba Trail, and the Kiz8bak Indigenous art boutique further enrich this unique cultural experience.
